The Littlest Tree

I hope you're having a lovely Christmas! We're so excited that David was able to come down to celebrate with us for a few days. We'll be sad to send him back to Seattle, but it's not long before T and I join him!

Sweet Swim Lessons

It wasn't the easiest. We started swim lessons for Tova when she was a year and a half old, in June of last year. It was a parent/child class, and even I hated that. Haha. We only did about three months of those classes and then took a break. When we started up again this past June, there were a lot of up and down days. But Tova grew to really love her teachers, Ms Jenna, Ms Jessica, and Ms Amber. She looked forward to it, and even became comfortable being in the water without someone holding her. It was great! We're really sad to leave. Being Florida girls, we'll always find ways to get to a warm beach here and there, but I guess swimming lessons aren't so common in Seattle. Maybe we can find some awesome nature-exploring classes instead!?

This particular day was the only day David was able to come, because it was an evening make-up class. We woke T up from her nap to go. She wasn't very excited about it all, but at least she wasn't a crying mess!

Probably not last year. Probably 2009.

We decided that once Tova was potty trained, she'd get a room redo. She loves it. So do I. ;)

For a personal update, things have been crazy around here. We went to Thailand, had a great trip, experienced an amazing wedding (and documented it), and came home to a big rush. David moved to Seattle that weekend, and he has been gone for just over a week now. We're still figuring out dates, but it looks like Tova and I will move just after the weekend of January 7th, when my Florida photography obligations are wrapped up (a few more photo shoots and then assisting Kate Headley for a West Palm Beach wedding!!). Among it all, David was accepted to UF's online MBA program for 2012, so we'll be factoring any travel he needs to do for orientation in to our moving date. It's all craziness! But we do have our house in Seattle that we'll rent for the next year figured out. It's all coming together. We appreciate all of your prayers and well wishes. :)

I hope you're having a wonderful December!

Xoxo, Kallie

The Otchy Family at Disney

By the time this posts, I'll either be finishing up photographing my first international wedding, or I'll be sleeping it off. Yes! We're in Thailand! We'll be back in a few days, and I look forward to sharing our latest adventure. Wish me luck traveling with my cameras and film. I may be a bit nervous about it....

In September, I had the pleasure of photographing a husband and wife photography team based in Ohio and their two precious daughters. It was the best shoot location - Magic Kingdom in Orlando! We had a great time, even in the hot Florida summer. I'm a huge fan of photographing life as it happens - and what a great thing to document your family's summer vacation at a theme park, a first haircut, or your kids favorite activities. Much better than "stand and say cheeses!", though those can be good, too. ;)
