A House in Florida

When you say it that way - We have a house in Florida. - it sounds a lot more glamorous than it is. Today we become landlords. Thank you for all of your prayers and help getting the word out. It looks like we'll try to sell our house again this time next year. Fingers crossed our tenants are good, and that the market is ready for our house in 2013!

The Washington Ice

The day after the really big snow fall, the sun started to come out. The snow melted a lot at the end of the day (the temperature is its warmest here around 5pm) and then re-froze when the temperatures dropped at night. It did this for several days. The layers of ice made the branches and trees very heavy, which caused a ton of trees to fall down, including a smaller one in our front yard. You also had to watch out when standing under branches. They fell down pretty constantly and made quite an ominous sound. One of my favorite sounds was similar, though - the ice and snow melting and falling through the trees. I loved sitting in my office on our second floor, watching blankets of white fall to the ground.

Happy belated Easter!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter! We had a wonderful time. My mother came to town! And over one week, we took two trips to the tulip fields in Mount Vernon, WA. Those pictures to come later.

The Big Snow

These images were taken three days after the last post. All in our back yard. It's hard to believe that right now David is wearing shorts under a clear sky and 70 degree weather in the same yard. The weather here is incredibly unpredictable - far more so than Florida. Surprisingly (to me at least), I really love it!

Firsts: Seattle Snow

Two days after arriving in Seattle, we woke up early for church and were so happily surprised by the start of our big snow storm. It was Tova's first time seeing snow, and she didn't even know what to think at first. It was adorable. We threw on boots and coats and played in the back yard before braving the streets as the snow really started to come down. More photos of the snow storm soon!
